In Indonesia, in Solo city there
is one cake which is called Leker. Actually ‘Leker’ is a Dutch word which means
‘Delicious’. Back then, when the Netherlands were still invading Indonesia,
they liked to eat Panekuk or Pancake in English. At the time, the locals
couldn’t afford to make a pancake since it cost a lot of money for them. So,
they made this kind of low budget thin Pancake which then became popular that
the Netherlands also liked to eat this thin Pancake.
Every time the Netherlands ate
this thin Pancake, they would always say ‘Lekker’ which means ‘Delicious’. So,
as you can guess, since the locals always heard the Netherlands said ‘Lekker’
when they were eating this thin Pancake, eventually they named this thin
Pancake, Leker.
Leker is made of a mixed flour
and rice flour which is then to be heated on the pan. The topping of this cake
are some chopped banana and sugar. But now some also put hundreds-and-thousands
as well as some cheese on this cake as the topping
